Notes on using the NM Unit online alternatives map

  • When opened, this map will automatically scale to the project area consisting of its four major locations (Cliff-Gila, San Francisco, San Francisco – Pleasanton, and Virden)

  • The “Legend” can be found in the top right corner of the page, which displays the symbology for whatever layers are currently activated on the map

  • Zoom in and out of the map using the plus and minus tools in the upper left corner of the page

  • To toggle between the varying alternatives and their layers, click on the “Layers” icon under the “New Mexico Unit Draft EIS” title—the Layers tool will pop up in the same place as the Legend

  • Check and uncheck certain layers to view individual elements of each alternative, or several at a time for comparison purposes

  • The basemap data can be changed by using the “Basemap Gallery” icon to the right of the “Layers” icon

  • More detailed information on the data, such as credits and use limitations, under the “Details” icon
